To give you a unique, life-changing experience, Lead to China offers a different set of special activities for the adoptive family, such as watching a kungfu performance, flying kites, riding bicycle on the Ancient City Wall, making dumplings with a local family and so on. All the below activities can be tailored to your private family tour. Come with us to experience China differently now!

Make Dumplings

Your guide will escort you to a local family, we will prepare the ingredients and you will learn how to make dumpling or wonton with them. Then you can enjoy your own fruit for lunch with the family.

Visit a Local School

Visiting a Primary or Junior High School, the activities are: visiting the school, having a class with the local students, the children can have some interaction with each other and communicate about the hobbies and interests, etc

Countryside Biking

Rent bicycle in West Street, cycle along Yulong River, pass through rice paddies, vegetable fields, and an orchard, and take photos with water buffalos. Your family will have fun in this beautiful area.

Chinese Calligraphy

First there'll be a general introdution about Four Treasures of the Study in China: the Brush, Ink, Paper and Ink Stone. Then you will learn how to write Chinese characters and write your name in Chinese!

Make and Fly Kite

We will prepare all the meterials, the teacher will first introduce the procedure,and then begin to make the skeleton and papering. The teacher will help with the children all the process. Then we will find a stadium/square for you to fly the kite.

Paint Panda T-shirts

In Chengdu, you can learn Panda Painting. Firstly we will invite a professional artist to teach you how to draw a panda in a teahouse. After you are familiar with the painting, you can draw a panda in a blank T-shirt. After the course, you will keep your own made panda T-shirt and wear it home. It'll be a perfect souvenir.

Makeup for the Sichuan Opera

After watching the Sichuan Opera, you will have a chance to be maked up as the performer. It will be a fun way to experience the local culture.

Watch an Acrobatic Show

You can watch this performance in Shanghai or Beijing. It costs about 60 mins, contains several stunts: Bicycle acrobatics,Circles jumping,Contortion.. . You will be amazed by these talented artists.

Learn to Cook Chinese Dishes

You can do this activity in Yangshuo, Guilin. In the morning, you will be taken to a local food market to buy vegetables, and then back to the kitchen, wash and chop dishes, learn to cook. You will learn all the procedure of cooking Chinese cuisine and have fun.

Visit a Local Family

The local family visting can be arranged in Beijing or Xian. We especially have chosen typical local families to host this activity in which you can see the true living standard of Chinese people. You can taste the true home cooked dishes in the home of the family that you visit, you can also learn to cook chinese food if you want.

Watch a Kungfu Show

The Legend of Kung Fu Show--a must-see production in Beijing for tourists and Kung Fu lovers, is a mix of traditional martial arts and modern theatre. Presenting stunning Kung Fu skills, exquisite ballet and music, this beautiful story in no doubt has become the most loved Kung Fu show in China. The story tells of about a young boy who dreams of becoming a Kung Fu master and attain enlightenment. He takes the path of a monk in which he must face many obstacles both from this world and his own mind to overcome his fears and to become a true master of Kung Fu. The show made its first appearance on the Beijing stage in July 15th 2004. Ever since it has received numerous awards and become a world class spectacle known around the world.

Visit the Giant Panda

Visit the home of giant pandas at Panda Breeding and Research Center, in the outskirts of Chengdu. Visit the nursery to see the highly successful breeding program, among the bamboo groves and shady walkways, and to view the pandas at rest or play. There is a panda museum where you can learn some information about giant pandas.
In order to protect the giant pandas from becoming infected with the canine distemper virus, all the panda bases stopped public interaction with the pandas from January, 2015. Dujiangyan Panda Base has reopened the volunteer program as well as the program to take photos next to a panda since March, 2015.
