2017 China Heritage Tours to Xuzhou SWI

Travel Date: Jul 03rd, 2017

Chu Shuxian, meaning a fair maiden in Chinese, is a quiet girl. But the one who gave her this name is the Xuzhou SWI, instead of her birth parents. In 2007, Chu Shuxian, as a just one-month-old baby, was abandoned at the gate of a construction site. Later, she was sent to the Xuzhou SWI for raise by local policemen. Fortunately, the little girl acquired a chance to get back to normal family life—an American couple adopted her and brought her to America for growing up.

The parting lasted a decade. Now the girl came back to the homeland accompanied by her adoptive parents. They participated in 2017 Summer Group Tour and travelled Beijing and Xi'an with other adoptive families.

Soon afterwards, the adoptive family went to visit the Xuzhou SWI. The staff in the SWI warmly received them and led them to show round in the places for children of different ages to stay, recovery room, recreation facilities and so on.

The family excitedly took photos with children in the SWI and sent them prepared gifts. The family also purchased these children’s self-made handicrafts as souvenirs. Afterwards, the adoptive family shared a lunch with the staff in the SWI.

Though this remarkable China homeland return tour was ended, we sincerely hope that Chu Shuxian could confront her future more positively and confidently.
