2017 China Heritage Tours to Changsha SWI

Travel Date: Jul 25th, 2017

July 25th was a remarkable day for He Wenjiao. Because after 13 years' departing from the homeland, she had finally achieved what she was wishing to return back to her birthplace -- Hunan Changsha on that very day, in order to thank those people who had took care of her at the beginning of her life and to know more about local culture and landscapes.

Before the exciting meeting, He Wenjiao and her family purchased some sweets, chocolates and milk as presents for children and the staff in the SWI.

At ten o'clock in the morning, the adoptive family reached the Changsha SWI and were welcomed warmly by the SWI leader Ms. Deng in the meeting room. After a welcome speech, she took out the records and old photos of Wenjiao. The adoptive family carefully read them and photographed them as copies. In order to let the SWI see Wenjiao’s living condition in the Netherlands, the adoptive family specially prepared a photo album for the SWI. The SWI expressed their gratitude to the adoptive family for their giving the child a chance to return to the family life and their intensive cares for the child.

After the cordial talk, accompanied by the staff of the SWI, the adoptive family visited the children nursing center and the place where Wenjiao once stayed. Afterwards, the family paid a visit to where Wenjiao was picked up -- the gate of Huangtuling primary school.

The adoptive family invited the director and the staff in the SWI to have a lunch together at noon. Director Xie also gave a present of Chinese characteristics to Wenjiao on behalf of the SWI and wished her the best luck in her future!
