A Root-seeking Travel to China Ningxia Children Welfare Home
On July 4th, Ningxia Children Welfare Home welcomed two American adoptive families’ return visit. Among them, the little girl Anna spent the first three years of her life here. Nine years later, Anna returned to her birthplace with her family and hoped to find out more information about her lives as infants as well as learn about the local culture and beautiful scenery.
It is known that there are 14 doctors, 2 medical technicians, 30 registered nurses, 18 rehabilitation therapists, 26 special education teachers, 26 registered social workers, 34 nannies in Ningxia Children Welfare Home. They have been providing professional and scientific services for children living there. The staff have always remembered their mission to help children return to family and society.
It has been many years since Anna left Yinchuan. Anna seems to be a little restrained and shy. On the day of the return visit, leaders and workers in the Ningxia CWI welcomed the coming of the two adoptive families warmly. They led the family to visit the orphanage inner environment and recalled the past life’s little moments of Anna. The staff of the welfare home are sincerely happy to learn that Anna has begun a new and happy life in the United States. After the orphanage visiting, adoptive families also went to the city of Zhongwei to visit Anna’s abandonment site and local attractions. From the photos, they obviously had a pleasant trip.
