Chinese Heritage Tours 2014 to Guiping Orphanage

The Reids, the Andrecyks and the Jungers are 3 families who come from Canada. They all adpoted kids(all 8 years old girl)from Guiping Social Welfare Institute which lies in Guangxi Province, China. Their plan for returning visiting trip is in March, 2014. Through nearly 20 days discussion since the end of September in 2013, we have achieved the final itinerary: Guiping Social Welfare-Chengdu-Yangzte River Cruise-Shanghai as their request.

The visiting for Guiping SWI is the most important and significate for the 3 families. As our itinerary, our driver and guide picked up them from Yangshuo and then drove to Guiping SWI. About 5 hours later, we arrived in Guiping and then have a rest in the hotel. The next morning, we entered the Guiping SWI at 10:00 am in the morning and started the unusual day.

The orphanage director Mrs Yang welcomed us and gave us a brief instruction about the situation of this orphange. Then we checked the 3 kids'previous files in this SWI. Also we found the kids' old photos when they were babies.

For Ava Kate Jin, the daughter of the Andrecyk, it was really the most exciting day because she met her foster monther. Ava's mother, Leanne was also very moved and hug this China mother. Finally the Andrecyks had photo with this foster mother.

When it is the lunch time, the 3 familes had a lunch with the staff, director and foster mother together.

In the afternoon, we visited the disabled children class on 2nd floor.

The lovely kids were drawing. Then we started to visit the kids' pick-up spot. Emily, the daughter of Family Reids saw this with her parents and they took a photo there.

The director Ms Yang with the 3 kids took photos together and gave the presents to them-Chinese knot.

After that, the director with all 3 families took photos.

When we depart to the gate, our guide held the sign"Lead to China" with 3 families took another photo to end this trip. The driver drive to the hotel to have a rest. The 3 families will depart Guiping and move to the next station on the next morning.
