2017 Dongguan Orphanage Visit

On April 27th, Dongguan SWI ushered in a special Dutch family including a father, a mother and their four children. Among them, nine-year-old Li Mengjia was the youngest daughter who was adopted by her Dutch parents in 2010 and had her new name Sara. Till now, Sara went back to the place she lived 2 years for a heritage tour accompanied by her families.




This return visit lasted for 3 days. On the first day, they set off from the hotel in Guangzhou and drove to Dongguan. The next morning, the family arrived at the Dongguan SWI by the scheduled time and was welcomed warmly. Director Hu of the SWI received the adoptive family and led them to show around in the SWI.



Happened to be lunchtime, the staff in the SWI invited the Dutch family to have lunch together and tasted local hometown dishes. At the same time, Director Hu specially sent a gift to the family on behalf of the SWI.



After lunch, the adoptive family paid a visit to the place where Sara was picked up by people.



On the third day, the Dutch adoptive family went to Guangdong Provincial Archives to check the records of Sara and knew better about her information in those years.
