Doc Required for China Orphanages Visit
In 2006, the China Civil Affairs Bureau (CCAB) has required protocols established for returning adoptive families to visit their child’s orphanage. LEADTOCHINA works closely with local orphanages, the Provincial Civil Affairs Bureau (CAB) and CCAB to arrange meaningful visits.
Each province has a somewhat different approach to the regulations. However, there are certain commonalities to expect. Generally, adoptive families will need to submit a set of required documents and a fee ranging from $180 to $350 (depending on the province) to seek visitation approval. An orphanage visit often serves as one of the most important components of the homeland heritage tour; planning and arranging such visitations can get emotional and stressful at times. With the assistance of our professional and diligent staff, adoptive families can relax and anticipate a smooth visit.
Prior to your orphanage visit application submission, please make sure you have the following documents ready:
A copy of each visitor's passports
A copy of the adoption certificate or the notarized adoption documents (Sample documents in PDF)
An orphanage visit application letter (Sample documents in PDF)
There are also some points needing attention:
1. The name list of all visitors; make sure the relationship between each visitor and the adopted child is listed.
2. It will be better to reserve the tour 3 months ago before your travel date if you have decision for meeting your child's foster mother or visit the pick-up place. This can make sure the SWI have enough time to contact the forster mother, check the child's file and so on, which will bring the proper arrangments and reception for families.
3. For visiting the pick-up place, please supply us the scan of Notarial Certificate.
4. Please note that all orphanage visits are conducted during business hours of the weekday. Families will need to plan in adavnce to avoid weekends and Chinese public holiday in scheduling visitation times. For this, you also can contact us.
5. You can bring some presents if you like when in this SWI. We will be thanksful on behalf of our children.
