Liaoning Food

As one of the eight famous cuisines of China, Liaoning cuisine is derived from the native cooking styles of the Liaoning region in China. The cooking style is typically strong in flavor and heavily spiced but not hot. Besides, Liaoning cuisine is heavily influenced by Beijing cuisine, so the main characteristics of Liaoning cuisine is that it is colorful, tastes are strong, food is soft, and one dish has many flavors tastes as well as Cuisine of Beijing. However, the sweet taste and the salty taste are very distinct. The staple foods of Liaoning are the Chinese dumplings (jiaozi) and noodles.

The coastal areas of Liaoning are famous for their sea food, such as the hairy armed crabs, cucumbers as well as the local fresh water fish. In the central area, it is rich in various fruit, such as the Anshan city. It is famous for its Nanqua pears, much of these are exported to Korea.
