A Giant Panda Volunteer Day in Dujiangyan

In order to protect the giant pandas from canine distemper infection, all Giant Panda Bases had stopped all the panda interconnect activities since January, 2015. However, Dujiangyan Panda Base has reopened the panda volunteer program as well as the program to take photos with a panda since March, 2015.
If you want to get close to the pandas and do something for them, you can visit the Dujiangyan Panda Base which is 90-minute's drive from Chengdu to join the Panda Keeper Program and take photo with pandas which are only available there at present. You will have the opportunity to stay one to three days with the pandas here. During the Panda Keeper Program, you can watch and experience the life of panda in all directions personally. You will help to take care of giant pandas under the guidance of the professional staff here. What you will do may include cleaning the enclosure, cleaning and cutting bamboo, making panda cakes, feeding the pandas, watching a panda movie and attending a panda lecture. At the end of the program you will be awarded a panda keeper certificate. In consideration of the popularity, you’d better book it as early as possible to guarantee the availability of the program.
