2018 Summer Heritage Tour with Shaoguan SWI Visit

Travel Date: Jun 26th, 2018

Reena and her husband William adopted two daughters from China successively. The eldest daughter "Fu Dong" was from Shaoguan, and this is the reason why her Chinese surname is "Shao".

In Autumn 2016,  the newborn Fu Dong was received by the Shaoguan SWI because of being abandoned and raised up until she was over one year old. In March of 2008, the little girl finally gained an opportunity of returning to the family life. In the years that followed, Fu Dong had been living in America, and had a younger sister from China two years later.

In August 2017, Renna got in touch with us and expressed her requirement of arranging a China homeland tour for the children. After repeated communication, they participated in the group tour of Beijing, Chengdu and Guilin on June 16th at last. And after that, they also customized a personal return tour to the Shaoguan orphanage.

After the Guilin sightseeing, the family took the high-speed railway to arrive in Guangzhou. The second day is the big day to visit the orphanage. The guide picked up the family in the hotel at the appointed time and drove about 3 hours to reach the Shaoguan city.
They had been warmly welcomed in the SWI and visited the local village soon afterwards. Owing to the distance, the adoptive family decided to stay for one night in Shaoguan, so as to let Fu Dong know better about her birthplace culture.

Below are some photos of the SWI return visit day.
