Reunion at Yingtan SWI: A Heartwarming Journey with a Family from Iceland

Travel Date: Jun 11th, 2024
On June 11, 2024, Yingtan Social Welfare Institute warmly welcomed a family of six from Iceland who had adopted a child, Tianyu, from the orphanage in 2012.

The morning began with the family being greeted at their hotel and escorted to the institute. Upon arrival, they were met by enthusiastic SWI staff who warmly welcomed them. A group photo was taken at the entrance to commemorate the occasion.

Inside, the institute's director and senior staff provided the family with a comprehensive tour of the facilities, followed by a review of the child's records from their time at Yingtan orphanage. Despite challenges in arranging a meeting with the child's late foster parents, the institute facilitated a heartfelt reunion between the family and the individual who originally found the child, capturing the moment in a touching photograph. Additionally, the family had the opportunity to meet with the SWI member who had assisted in placing the child with the foster family.

During their visit, Magali, the mother, was delighted to recognize a child she had met during the adoption process of Tianyu. Overjoyed to see him again, she invited him to join them for a special photo.

After a meaningful reunion, the family concluded their visit, departing with cherished photographs and memories from their journey.
