China Harbin Heritage Tours
In February 2010, one-year-old Tong Aozhi was adopted by a family from Norway. Tong Aozhi is nine years old now and first came back to China accompanied by his parents. He specially went to visit the Harbin CWI that had given him a second chance at life and saw his foster parent and child-care workers in the CWI who had taken good care of him.
On the morning of April 11th, 2017, under the warm reception of the staff in the CWI, the family checked the previous data and records of Tong Aozhi and visited the environment and facilities in the new CWI. The family also brought the growth album of Tong Aozhi and some gifts for the staff here.
At the request of the adoptive family, we helped to prior contact with the foster family for a reunion together. The foster mother recalled the days with Aozhi and sent the family some photos taken during Aozhi's childhood.
Before the end of the visit, the director invited the family to have lunch together. The family was very thankful and wrote a thank-you letter to show their gratitude, with the following contents.

We are very happy to be able to return to Harbin- Both we as parents and our son Henrik (Tong Aozhi). It is exciting to stay at the Gloria hotel like last time in 2010. And since we went here in the winter last time, it is nice to see the city in spring. We enjoy walking around to get to know this big city a little bit. We are very happy with the arrangements of Lead to China. Even though our plane was very delayed, our guide Lynn and the driver wait at the airport waiting for us. Lynn has been very helpful and service minded. And she was priceless (fantastic) the day we visited the orphanage and met the foster parents. It had been a joy being within her and the good driver these days!
We are grateful for the lunch from the government which was a very nice Chinese meal. We are so grateful that we could visit the new orphanage, and see the building and the playgrounds, and that we were greeted well.
We are very happy to have been given the chance to meet our son's foster parents and even some of the other kids in the care. Children were lived with him well.
He was with them. They are very warm and generous people, and we were happy to see their love for him. They even gave us pictures from his time with them, which will be very important to him later in life.
Thank you for letting us adopt Henrik. He is a healthy boy who was given a good start in life in your care. He was enriched our lives!
Thank you for the great work you do for children in need!
Best regards,
Anne & Hans Eric
