2017 China Heritage Tours to HengYang

Travel Date:

Years ago, Gary and Jill adopted two Chinese girls respectively from the LinAn SWI and the Hengyang SWI in China. As time moved on, previous little babies blossomed into young and beautiful teens and they traveled across the oceans to come back China so as to look for the beginning of their lives and visit their folks in the homeland.

On the morning of May 25th, the Director Wang of the Hengyang SWI welcomed the adoptive family personally and graciously introduced the general situation of the SWI to the family. The adoptive family also went to visit the room their child once lived, read over their child’s archival data and tasted local delicious accompanied by the enthusiastic director.

In the afternoon, we arranged the family to have a meeting with  the foster parents of their child by appointment. The foster parents brought the adoptive family to go sightseeing in the Yangfeng Square and took some pictures for memory. Afterwards, they invited the adoptive family to their home for a rest. Seeing the American family bringing their adoptive child back to Hengyang, Neighbors were very happy and showed their great concerns.

Having arrived at the foster home, two families talked while eating some fruits. They chatted about the life and condition when the child stayed in Hengyang and the child’s hobbies. They were unwilling to close the conversation until about eighteen o’clock and then the foster family asked the adoptive family to eat noodles.

After dinner, the foster family led the adoptive family to walk in the Xiangjiang River wind band of light, enjoy the Hengyang night scene and introduced the Chinese dama square dance which caught the adoptive father’s attention. The adoptive father was very excited to join the square dance team.

The adoptive family told us this is a quite unforgettable memory for everyone in their family.
