Canadian Family's Heritage Tour to Guiping SWI

In June 2018, Jin Meiying, accompanied by her parents, returned to Guiping and the Guiping Social Welfare Institute, the place where she once lived as an infant. Barbara, her mom, contacted us to seek help planning their first time return trip in 2017. The family was excited to visit China and learn about Jin Meiying's birth country.

Lead to China customized a three-week China summer tour for the family with sightseeing in Beijing, Xian, Chengdu, Guilin, Yangshuo, Longsheng and Shanghai successively, where they experienced various famous attractions, delicious food and featured activities with a guide in each city who made the trip very memorable. One highlight was the pandas in Chengdu however the family looked forward most to visiting the orphanage and meeting the early caregivers of Jin Meiying.

On June 22, the adoptive family took the bullet train from Guilin to reach Guiping. With the help of their local guide, they visited the Guiping SWI and were met with a warm reception. The adoptive family had prepared a photo album carefully before the visit to show the SWI staff that showed the child's life in Canada to reassure them that she was happy, safe and loved very much by her parents. Afterwards, the family also visited Jin Meiying's finding place. The visit to Guiping and the SWI exceeded the family's expectations, Before the end of the visit, they took many photos, leaving behind new memories.
