Chongqing is a municipality directly under the Central Government, which is located in Southwest China and is China's important industrial base, with an area of 23,114 square kilometers and a population of 30 million. It is the largest commercial center and land and water communication hub in South-West China. The port of Chongqing is the biggest in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. Known as a "Mountain City", it has a long history and numerous scenic spots and historical sites. It's renowned in particular for gardens with unique beauty.
Chongqing attracts visitors from abroad and home with its beautiful natural scenery and 3,000 years rich cultural relics. The natural wonder of spectacular Three Gorges of Yangtze River and the sceneries are surrounded by rich cultural heritages and fantastic legends, such as Dazu Rock Carvings, Porcelain town and General Joseph Warren Stilwell Museum and so on. Chongqing has the sub-tropical climate, with an annual average temperature of 18 degree Celsius. It's well known for foggy weather. The best time for visiting Chongqing is winter and spring for the temperature is not too low and the rainfall is not too much in those seasons. It’s ideal for travelling.
