Sichuan Transportations
Situated in the Southwest of China, Sichuan Province covers upper stream of the Yangtze. It can be reachable by air, by train, by land and by water all around, the reason is that it is the most developed province and transport hub in southwestern China.
China Highway
As the capital of Sichuan Province, Chengdu is the center of the entire provincial highways. You can choose: Chengdu - Dujiangyan, Chengdu - Mianyang, Chengdu - Leshan - Mt. Emei, Chengdu - Ya'an as well as Neijiang - Zigong – Yibin. Owing to the highways, you can appreciate the beautiful scenery on the way. Thus, highway is the main means of transportation in Sichuan. At the same time, the neighboring provinces and cities are connected by the highways: the Sichuan-Shanxi Highway, the Sichuan-Tibet Highway, Chengdu-Chongqing Highway. So you needn’t care about the transportation when you are traveling in Sichuan.
Waterway
Sichuan Province is proud of its developed waterway. There are so many rivers and tributaries across the province, Yangtze River crosses the province and joins with Min River, Jialing River, Fujiang River, Qu River, Wu River main currents and 120 tributaries. We can benefit from natural water transportation for it links to the major industrial.
Air
As the air transportation hub in the southwest China, Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport has 102 airlines, which have 96 for domestic service and 6 for international charter. The air routes cover the most of major cities in China, including Bangkok, Hong Kong. Chengdu - Beijing route with a total length of 1,700 km is one of the major domestic flight routes. Besides, there are another two main airlines to reach Sichuan, Chengdu – Shanghai and Chengdu – Guangzhou. You can choose one of them. What’s more, you can take a taxi to the airport in other cities like Yibin, Xichang, Dazhou and Luzhou.
