Qinghai Transportations
Covering an area of 720,000 square kilometers (about 278,000 square miles), Qinghai, located in Northwest China, is the fourth largest province in China. Compared with railway and airway, highway is the main mean of transportation in Qinghai.
Railway
Except for some branch lines, there are two railways running through Qinghai Province: Qinghai-Tibet Railway and Lanzhou- Qinghai Railway. Owing to these railways, Qinghai is covered with advanced network of railway, which brings a big convenience for us.
Highway
In fact, highway is the main means of transportation in Qinghai Province. There are coaches departing to cities within the province and other cities and provinces. You had better check the detailed information about the bus schedule before you travel.
Air
Among two airports in Qinghai Province, Xi'ning Caojiabao Airport and Golmud Airport, the Xi’ning Caojiabao Airport has direct flights to Beijing and Xi’an every day. What you need know is that the flights to Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Kunming, Shenzhen, Urumqi and Golmud are not available every day, so you should consult the airport in advance.
