Tianjin Transportations
In Northern China, Tianjin Binhai International Airport is the second largest airport, which is ranking only after the Capital International Airport in Beijing. 1. By Air
Tianjin Binhai International Airport
Location: Zhangguizhuang, Dongli District, aroud 13 kilometers (about 8 miles) away from the downtown area of Tianjin.
At present Tianjin Binhai International Airport have 39 domestic and international airlines, reaching Shanghai, Xian, Shenzhen, Wuhan, Seoul, and so on.
2. By Train
There are four rail stations in this city: Tianjin Railway Station (namely Tianjin East Railway Station), Tianjin West Railway Station and Tianjin North Railway Station and Tanggu Railway Station.
Tianjin Railway Station
Transit from this station could reach more than forty cities in China, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Xian included. It is worthy to take the intercity high-speed train from Tianjin Railway Station to Beijing South Railway Station. Every day, there are over 50 pairs of high-speed C-trains running between these two cities, only 30 minutes for one-trip.
3. By Long-Distance Bus
Buses from Tianhuan Long-distance Bus Station in Nankai District are mainly fixed for major cities in other provinces, such as Hebei, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Jiangxi, and so on. Other long-distance bus stations provide service to cities near to Tianjin, especially those governed by Tianjin Municipality.
You can take Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan Expressway from Beijing to Tianjin and the whole journey takes only one and a half hours

4. By Boat
Tianjin New Port is the biggest artificial port within China and is a must if you come to Tianjin by ship. Its domestic sea routes are to Dalian and; while the international routes are to Inchon in South Korea (every Thursday and Saturday) and Honshu in Japan (every Monday). During high tourism seasons, there are passenger liners from Japan and Europe arriving in Tianjin New Port.
If you want to go to Beijing from Tianjin New Port, you can take a taxi to Tianjin Train Station and then take trains to Beijing.
5. City Transportations
(1) By City-Bus
Tianjin city-bus system consists of school bus routes, special sight-seeing routes and regular routes. If you take an inner city bus route, you will pay CNY1 for twelve kilometers (about 7.5 miles) or less and CNY1.5 for more. If you take a suburb route you have to pay CNY1 for the first ten kilometers (about 6.2 miles) and CNY0.5 for each extra five kilometers (about 3.1 miles).
(2) By Light Railway
Tianjin light railway was thought of the longest throughout China with two departure stations, the light rail centers in Zhongshan Gate and the Development Zone. The departure interval is fifteen minutes and the entire distance will cost forty minutes and costs CNY6.
(3) By Subway
Tianjin Metro Line 1 starts from the junction of Nanjing Rd and Xinhua Rd and passes through six districts, Beichen, Hongqiao, Nankai, Heping, Hexi and Jinnan. Metro Line 1 runs every fifteen minutes from 5:30 to 22:30. The whole journey will take you around twelve minutes and only CNY1.
(4) By Taxi
You can easily find taxis at or around airport, railway station, hotels and tourist attractions. The flat rate fare is CNY8 for all taxi types; while the distance surcharge varies from CNY1.5–2 per additional kilometer according to the style of taxis. If the taxi stops altogether for five minutes, for any reason, you will have to pay a surcharge equivalent to the distance surcharge for each additional kilometer. If you know the distance to your destination you can bargain with the driver and most probably save some money.
