14 Days China Silk Road Tour
Tour Route: Shanghai, Xian, Lanzhou, Dunhuang, Turpan, Urumqi, Beijing
This tour will take you to the mysterious and attractive historical Silk Route in old China, it covers most of the famous spots in Silk Road and together with Top 3 destinations in China. Arrival in Shanghai,fly to Xian-the start point of the Silk Road, along the road to Dunhuang,Turpan,Urumqi and fly to Beijing at the end.
Our local professional guide and experienced driver will expect you at the airport after your baggage reclaim and customs clearance, and then escort you to check in the hotel in downtown area. Relax during the rest time of the day to recover from the jet leg.
Day 2 Shanghai
Today you will taste the feature of Shanghai both "Classic and Modern".
First stop is Yu Garden,which reflects a very typical southern China garden style. Jagged pavilion with elegant decoration, glittering pools with roving fish, sprouting pine trees, all these pleasant scenes refresh your mood.Continue to visit the nearby Yuyuan Market which is a bustling bazaar in old town of Shanghai. Visit Old French Concession for the featured architectures there.
Drive to Pudong New Area to explore the modern Shanghai. Visit Oriental Pearl Tower to have a bird view of Shanghai.
Lastly, enjoy a leisure walk along the Bund to appreciate the historical architecture and the skyline of this modern city along the Huangpu River.
Free-time Ideas(Optional): a night cruise on the Huangpu River to enjoy a fantastic view of Shanghai or a breathtaking Acrabatic Show.
Meals: Breakfast, LunchDay 3 Shanghai to Xian
Today you will be transferred to Shanghai airport and fly to Xian. Be met by our Xian guide and transfer to your Xian hotel.
In the afternoon,visit Ancient City Wall--the best preserved ancient city wall in China. The wall which is 12 meters high and 18 meters wide encircles the city and is perfect for panoramic view of the city.
Followed by a relaxing wandering around the bustling and lively Muslim Street, where you can taste the most famous Xian food and experience local culture.
Day 4 Xian
In the morning, visit one of the greatest man-made wonders in the world-Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. The terracotta warriors and horses of life size are arranged in battle formations at the museum.
After lunch, be driven back to city area and visit Shaanxi Historical Museum, where over 300,000 invaluable historical items are on exhibition.
Visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda-- the very important Buddhism temple in China.
Free-time Ideas(Optional): Enjoy the Dummpling Banquet and Tang Dynasty Dance Show.
Meals: Breakfast, LunchDay 5 Xian to Dunhuang
Free activities in the morning. Fly to Dunhuang in the afternoon, be met by local guide and check into your Dunhuang hotel
Meals: Breakfast, LunchDay 6 Dunhuang
In the morning, visit the famous Mogao Caves, containing some of the finest examples of Buddhist art spanning a period of 1,000 years.
Then take a Camel-Riding along the Echoing-Sand Dune to reach the Crescent Lake.
Day 7 Dunhuang to Turpan
Today’s highlight is the Yardang National Geopark. Yardang has been created over time by the sort part of the earth surface having being eroded by wind and rain, with the hard part of the rocks remaining in the desert. You will drive from Dunhuang city westwards.
On route, visit the Yumenguan Pass and Ruin of Great Wall of Han Dynasty.
Be driven back to Dunhuang city and take the overnight train to Turpan.
Day 8 Turpan
Your guide will meet you at Railway Station and escort you to your hotel in Turpan. After a brief rest in hotel, visit Jiaohe Ruins, lies ten kilometers to the west of Turpan, situated on an island in the middle of river waters flowing throug the Yarnaz Valley—the name itself means "at the confluence of two rivers."
Next proceed to the famous Karez Well. Some people hold the view that Karez Wells of Xinjiang, the Great Wall and Canal constitute three Ancient Chinese Works.
After that, you'll have a visit to the Sugong Pagoda. The pagoda displays the typical features of Uygur architecture.
Day 9 Turpan to Urumqi
In the morning, you will visit the Gaochang Ruins. Gaochang was built in the 1st century BC, it was an important site along the Silk Road. It played a key role as a transportation hub in western China.
After that, pay a visit to the Bizaklik Thousand Buddha Cave. These caves used to be palace temples of the Huihu Kingdom.
Afterwards, you'll move to the Flaming Hill. The climate of this mountain is harsh and the temperature is extremely hot in the summer, the hottest spot in China with frequent temperature reaching over 50 °C or higher. After the sightseeing, you will be driven to Urumqi.
Day 10 Urumqi
After breakfast, drive to visit the beautiful Heaven lake. It is located on the Heaven Mountain. In ancient fairytale, it was the fairyland where the Heavenly Queen lived. It is the best summer resort in Xinjiang. Cruising on a boat, enjoying the breathtaking picturesque views of inverted reflection of snow mountains, flourishing plants and blooming flowers around the lake.

Fly to Beijing in the morning, be met by local guide and check into your Beijing hotel. Then visit the Temple of Heaven, the sacred altar for worshiping the God of Heaven in the world.

A buffet breakfast & real fresh coffee will kick start your day. Your private guide will be on time and waiting in arrivals.
First stop, Tiananmen Square. It is the third largest city square in the world. It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several important events in Chinese history.
Next visit the Forbidden City, which is 24 emperor's palace in Dynasty Ming and Qing. It is called Gu Gong in Chinese, located in the Center of Beijing. It is the ancient palace which has the largest scale, most magnificent, and best reservation in the world.
Explore the construction art and royal dignity in the largest, most beautiful and exquisite imperial garden--Summer Palace.
Free-time Ideas(Optional): Kungfu Show/Peking Opera is highly recommended in Beijing. Your guide can help you get tickets.

In the morning, you take a scenic drive through the countryside and mountains to reach China's most renowned monument—Great Wall(Mutianyu section, less crowed). Take a cable car up to the Great Wall, climbing up the venerable ramparts,you will marvel at this great constructions. On the way down,those of you feeling adventurous can choose the gravity-propelled toboggan!
In the afternoon, visit Ding Tomb, mausoleum of the 13th emperor of Ming Dynasty.
Drive back to Beijing city, have an exterior visit of Beijing Olympic Village (Bird's Nest and Water Cube).
Day 14 Depart from Beijing
Your private car, driver and guide will be ready and waiting at your hotel lobby to get you to the airport on time. Sit back and relax as they help you check-in and escort you to the correct security gate.
