Pick up from your hotel in Shanghai and take early morning flight for Beijing. Met and transferred to your Hotel in Beijing.
Then our guide will wait you at the lobby and take you to enjoy the lunch. After lunch, you will visit the Tiananmen Square. Tiananmen Square is a large city square in the center of Beijing, China, named after the Tiananmen gate (Gate of Heavenly Peace) located to its North, separating it from the Forbidden City. Tiananmen Square is the fourth largest city square in the world (440,000 m2 – 880×500 m or 109 acres – 960×550 yd). It has great cultural significance as it was the site of several important events in Chinese history.
Next visit Forbidden City. The Forbidden City was the seat of Imperial power for 500 years, and is now a major tourist attraction in China. The total area of the complex is 183 acres, so it takes quite a while to walk through, especially if you want to have a close look at everything. All together there are 9,999 1/2 rooms in the Museum, not all of which can be visited.
After that, you may take a famous Beijing food-Beijing Roast Duck as dinner.
Day 2 Beijing Sightseeing
First you will climb Mutianyu Great Wall, which is the best preserved section of the Great Wall. Climb up the Great Wall, well-known for the longest defense wall in the world.(Cable Car is optional).
After lunch, visit Ming Tombs – Dingling, the mausoleum of Emperor Yongle who was the third emperor of the Ming Dynasty. He was the most famous historical figure among the Ming Emperors.
Also you will visit the Longdi Superior Jade Gallery. It's a tourist bus stop on the way to the Great Wall. It was designed to feed tour groups in an attached restaurant and then hold them captive inside a sales exhibition warehouse after the set meal. (30 minutes)
Finally you will have an outdoor scene of the National Swimming Center. It’s one of the most dramatic and exciting venues to feature sporting events for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
When tour is over, you will be transferred back to your hotel by tour guide and driver.
Day 3 Beijing Sightseeing
After breakfast, go on with your trip in Beijing and first visit Summer Palace. Summer Palace is a vast ensemble of lakes, gardens and palaces in Beijing, China. The Summer Palace is mainly dominated by Longevity Hill and the Kunming Lake. It covers an expanse of 2.9 square kilometres (720 acres), three-quarters of which is water.
After lunch, continue to visit Temple of Heaven. It is located in the southern part of Beijing, and has been one of the most holy places for the whole country for more than five centuries. It used as a complex of sacrificial buildings for the Ming and Qing emperors, and is the largest one in Beijing among several royal altars to Heaven, Earth, the Sun, the Moon and other deities or symbolic forces of Nature.
After the day tour, transferred to your hotel in Beijing.
Meals: Breakfast, LunchDay 4 Beijing-Shanghai
Pick up from your hotel in Beijing and head to the Shichahai Area - the old part of Beijing. First you have a hard-to-get-opportunity of one-hour tour of a 300-year old courtyard. The housekeeper of the yard gives you a detailed explanation of the old courtyard ( Siheyuan ) - its history, its layout, its Fengshui, and its traditiona Chinese culture involved. Then take a pedicab and drive through the zigzag and narrow alleys or hutongs. Two people share one rickshaw. Drop off the pedicab at the Silver Ingot Bridge( Yinding Bridge ) and walk along the 800-year old Yandai Xiejie ( Tobacco Pipe Lean Street ), and get to the Drum Torwer. Ascending the 67-meter high and two-story Drum Tower dating from 1420 is sure to bring you back to the old Beijing by seeing the big drum tower and having bird's eye view of the surrounding communities of hutongs and siheyuan - existing traditional courtyards in Beijing.
After lunch, move on to Lama Temple, or the Yonghe Lamasery, or Yonghegong. It is the most handsome and impressive Buddhist temple in the city. Lama Temple ( Yonghe Lamasery ) was built in the 33 Qing Kangxi year (1694) and it is now the largest and best-preserved Lamasery of Yellwo Sect in Beijing.
Transferred to Beijing Airport. Take flight back to Shanghai. Transfer service to your Shanghai hotel or apartment. Your tour ends.
