4 Days Hiking Tour to Huangshan Village

Arrive at Tunxi District of Huangshan City by plane or bullet train. Greeted by the local guide and transferred to the hotel. Visit the best-preserved commercial street-the Ancient Street of Tunxi, built in Ming and Qing Dynasties.

After breakfast, drive to Yixian County by your private coach, which is praised as another "Garden of Eden" on Earth. Your hiking will start from Yuanyang Valley in Xidi Village, exploring the Xidi-Hongcun Ancient Pathway (8.2 km), passing by the Pan's Post, the Qishu Lake, the Zilu Temple and finally you will arrive at the end—Qishu Fairyland Zhongkun Int'l Hotel. It will take you about three hours to do the whole hiking. 

The Xidi-Hongcun Ancient Pathway in Yixian County is a national trail for mountaineering and fitness, being one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Huizhou. When you step on this simple and quiet rural road, you will pass through the green jungle and the flowing canals, breathing natural atmosphere, listening to the birds and plunging yourself into the embrace of the beautiful nature here. You will have a panoramic view of the beautiful landscapes along this ancient trail surrounded by the mountains and rivers. In the afternoon visit Hongcun Village (a world cultural heritage site, the unique buffalo-shaped village, one of the shooting locations for the Oskar-awarded movie "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon"). Then, drive back to Tunxi, the downtown of Huangshan City.

Today you will be hiking on the Tongling Ancient Pathway in Huizhou District of Huangshan City. This Pathway was built in Ming Dynasty. It was mainly made of stone and gravel, as long as about 8 km. It will take you about 3 hours to complete the whole hiking.

The ancient pathway couples three ancient villages: Chengkan Village, Lingshan Village and Shuyuan Village. There are more than 40 ancient buildings along this pathway with beautiful natural scenery, rich history and profound cultural atmosphere. It used to be a main route for the local predecessors and Huizhou merchants to go out for business traffic.

It is a kind of simple and natural life to do such activities as walking on ancient roads and padding between fields, wandering among hills and streams, passing through woodlands and bamboo forests.

It is also a sort of way to learn about the local farmers' simple and natural life and promote green, low-carbon and healthy living ideas by doing these as follows: exploring the mysterious ancient villages in Huizhou (in Lingshan Village, you may see some outlet buildings, pavilions, bridges, arches and ancestral halls), enjoying the unique and intoxicating rurality (you may also see the well-proportioned terraces, tea bushes, bamboo forests everywhere. You can breathe the fresh air deeply here and participate in farmer's seasonal field production activities); experiencing the unique culture of ancient villages and enjoying the traditional folk arts and crafts (Lingshan village is surrounded by green hills and bamboo forests and the villagers are all good at bamboo feat. Every household owner can make different bamboo wares).

In the afternoon, visit Chengkan Village, built in the Ming Dynasty, a so-called mysterious "Eight Diagram Village" with its layout just in accordance with traditional Chinese Fengshui theory.

After that, drive back to Tunxi.

Today you will have a trekking at Xin'anjiang Landscape Gallery.

First, drive to Nanyuankou Village in Shexian County and take the ferry to the village across the river.

Then you may start your hiking along Xin'anjiang Landscape Gallery (about 3 hours’ walking), during which, you will pass through some villages to experience local farmers’ life and appreciate the residential houses with Hui Architectural style. You will also see the tea bushes, mulberry trees, orchards (loquat and orange) and pay a visit to local villagers’ silkworm houses and bean curd workshop.

Then, drive back to Tunxi and go to the next destination by plane or bullet train.
