6 Days Chinese New Year Exploration to Beijing
Tour Route: Beijing
You can celebrate Chinese New Year, the most important traditional Chinese festival, attend the Temple Fairs in which there are traditional artistic performances and crafts shows and join in multiple folk activities covering religion for entertainment.
Arrival at Beijing. You will be met by our English speaking tour guide at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
Day 2 Beijing
Morning tour to Tiananmen Square, the largest square in the world. As it was the site of several key events in the history of China, it has great cultural significance. The attractions closing to Tiananmen Square contain the Forbidden City, museums, governments buildings, mausoleum and Heavenly Gate. The proceed to Forbidden City. Located in the center of urban area of Beijing City, the Forbidden City is the home to 24 emperors between 1420 and 1911. The great halls, gates and squares contrast with the intricate networks of side courtyards, gardens, halls and quarters are the precious wealth of whole man kind. Next visit a Silk Factory. After lunch, visit the Summer Palace, the best-kept existing royal garden in Beijing. A special Beijing duck dinner is arranged for this evening. After dinner learn more about Chinese culture with Kungfu Show.
Day 3 Beijing
Today you’ll take a Hutong tour by rickshaw to explore Beijing's daily life. After touring the Hutong, you will join a local family to learn how to write Chinese lucky expressions by Chinese calligraphy. You can also join them to prepare the dumplings and enjoy your fruit of labor.
Day 4 Beijing
After breakfast, take a tour to the Mutianyu Great Wall, about two and a half hours from the center of Beijing City. Mutianyu Great Wall is a place with less visitors but with well-known scenery. Next stop is Ding Mausoleum. It is the tomb of Emperor Zhu Yijun and his empresses, the 13th emperor of Ming Dynasty. The Mausoleum is about twenty seven meters deep. Ding Mausoleum features Soul Tower, Baocheng, the stone-made Underground Palace and the Stone Bridge. On the way back, you will visit the Jade Gallery and have an outside look at the Bird Nest & Water Cube.
Day 5 Beijing
In the morning you are going to visit a famous Beijing temple fair. One of the city's busiest temple fairs, Ditan Park is the site of the altar where sacrifices were formerly offered to the earth god, and now it has become the gathering place where people celebrate the beginning of a new year and various kinds of activities are held here. Though it's super croweded every new year in this place, Chinese always enjoy it. You can enjoy folk performances, sample local snacks and shop for unique souvenirs. Then visit the Temple of Heaven, situated in the southeastern part of Beijing City. It was a place for emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties to host annual ceremonies of prayer to the Heaven for good harvest. Temple of Heaven is a complex of buildings with a flavor of Taoist.
Day 6 Beijing
Transferred to the airport for your departure flight back to home, your China Tour ends.
