6 Days Xi'an Terracotta Warriors & Huangshan Tour
Tour Route: Huangshan, XianArrival at Tunxi, downtown of Huangshan City. Be met by our guide and transferred to the hotel. Stay in Huangshan International Hotel . Since you'll have to carry everything yourself up Huangshan unless you hire a porter, it is advisable that you leave your big luggage in your hotel in downtown and bring only a small handbag or backpack with you up mountain
Day 2 Tunxi to Huangshan
After breakfast today, we drive for one and half hours to reach Yellow Mountain, characterized by the four wonders, namely, odd-shaped pines, grotesque rock formation, sea of clouds and crystal-clear hot springs. Yellow Mountain was listed as one of the World Natural and Cultural Heritages in 1990. We take Yungu (Cloud Valley) cable car up mountain from the eastern steps, followed by a full day exploration of stunning views up Huangshan, including Beginning-to-believe Peak, the Lion Peak, Cloud-dispelling Pavilion, Grand Canyon, Flying-over Rock, Bright Summit, etc. We'll watch the brilliant sunset if weather permits.
Day 3 Huangshan to Old Villages to Tunxi to Xi'an
Ye's Family Ancestral Hall Get up early in the morning to watch the sunrise. After breakfast, a 3.5-hour hike will be conducted to enjoy the premium views of the western side of Yellow Mountain including the Sea Turtle Peak, Lotus Peak, Jade Screen Peak, Guest-welcoming Pine before taking the Yuping cable car down the mountain. Then, drive to visit Hongcun Village and Nanping Village. Hongcun Village in Yixian County attracts particular attention for the clustered houses. It is famed for its pre-20th Century buildings. What is unique about the village is that it is ox-shaped topography. Nanping Village's most attraction is 300 or more ancient residential houses and her amazing winding lanes. Strolling in the village, you'll be surprised to find how simple and old-fashioned the village is. Transfer to Tunxi, and visit Tunxi's Old Street. The shops, workshops and residences form an organic whole, keeping the characteristic and operation layout of ancient store such as "front shop and back workshop" or "front shop and back house". After dinner, you are transferred to the airport to take flight to Xi'an. Our guide will meet you at the airport and send you to the hotel.
Day 4 Xi'an
Spanish Muslim-style gardenA whole day visit to the Horticultural Exposition 2011 Xi'an, a maginificent gathering of 105 cities and organizations at home and abroad, which will attract 12 million visitors. The expo covers a total area of 418 hectares (6,270 mu), 188 hectares (2,820 mu) of which is water area. The main building includes Chang'an Tower, Greenhouse, Theme Pavilion and the Guangyun Entrance. The Five Major Horticultural Scenic Spots are the Chang'an Flower Valley, Colorful Plants from Qinling Mountains, Flowers along the Silk Road, Overseas Collections and Flower Rainbow over the Ba River. Our guide will wait for you outside the park and pick you up in the late afternoon and transfer you back to the hotel.
Day 5 Xi'an
Xi'an Ancient City WallBuffet breakfast at hotel, then you'll set out to visit Shaanxi Historical Museum and Ancient City Wall, the most complete city wall that has survived in China as well being one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. It was enlarged in Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) from the city wall initially built in Tang Dynasty (618 -907). Now it is 12 meters tall, 12-14 meters wide and 14 kilometers in length with a deep moat surrounding it. You can walk, even cycle on the wall. A nice Chinese buffet lunch at the Tang Dynasty Palace.
Terracotta WarriorsIn the afternoon, drive for one hour to Lintong County to visit the world famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses with circle movie showed before visiting the pits and the Banpo Neolithic Village. The original site of Terracotta Warriors was found by a local farmer digging a well in 1974. Now it has turned into the most important attraction in Xi'an - Terracotta Warriors and Horses Museum. It is located about 50km east of the Xi'an City. The museum includes Pit 1, Pit 2 and Pit 3 as well the exhibition hall of the chariots and horses. The Pit 1 is the largest of the three. You'll take the Tang Dynasty Dinner Show, one of the best shows in China, in the evening.
Day 6 Xi'an Departure
Bell TowerIn the morning today, you begin with a visit to the Bell Tower. Originally built in 1348, the Bell Tower in Xi'an is situated in the very heart of the city and is the most well-preserved and best-known one in China. You will also visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda . As one of the most famous Buddhist pagodas in China and initially built in 589 A.D., the pagoda is a well-preserved ancient building and a holy place for Buddhists. It attracts numerous visitors for its fame in the Buddhist religion, its simple but appealing style of construction, and its new square in front of the temple. In the afternoon, a visit to the Muslim quarter will be conducted. In the evening, you'll be transferred to the airport for your departure. End of service.
