Day 1 Arrival in Guiyang

Upon arrival at the airport, our professional guide will meet and escort you to the hotel. If time permits, we will visit the Jiaxiu Pavilion, the landmark building of Guiyang city and later, the Hongfu Buddhist Monastery on top of Qianling Mountain.

Day 2 Guiyang to Jichang to Tianlong to Anshun

Meet at the hotel lobby today and then transfer to Jichang Old-Han Chinese village. A small welcome ceremony and lion dance is arranged by the locals to welcome your student group visit. Then witness the Dixi or ground opera performance, a very unique art form in Guizhou. It is performed by the locals to ward off evil spirits and calamities, characterized by exaggerated expression, unique design of figures, distinctive characters as well as colorful costumes. You may even have the chance to learn some simple performing skills from the locals. Next, take a hiking trip to Tianlong Old-Han Chinese village to explore its rural ancient stone architecture. The guide will teach you some simple Chinese conversations. You will also be informed of the dos and don'ts when visiting a local family in the village.

Today's lunch will be at a Tianlong village café, after which you will proceed to Anshun to visit a small batik museum and shop owned by one of the top 10 folk artists in China. Grab the chance to learn some simple batik skills. After dinner and a short break in a local restaurant, we will make our way to a bustling night market of Anshun.

Day 3 Anshun to Huangguoshu to Guiyang

Huangguoshu Waterfall, noted as the largest waterfall in China, is your first stop of the day. We will spend the whole morning to visit the waterfall as it is located in the outer suburb of Anshun and will take about one and half hours hike to reach it. After lunch, visit the Tianxingqiao scenic spot that is well known for its stone forest on the water and limestone karst caves. Finally, return to Guiyang city to have dinner and then check in at the Trade-Point Hotel.

Day 4 Guiyang to Kaili

Visit Kaili, the capital city of Guizhou's southeast autonomous prefecture of Miao & Dong people. Your first stop there is Qingman Miao village. A welcome ceremony awaits you, where beautiful Miao girls offer rice wine contained in ox horn. You may just take a sip as a good gesture. Bear in mind not to hold the horn for by doing so indicates that you are able to finish the drinks. After the brief ceremony, enter the village and visit the Miao's residences on stilts. With its rich ethnic and regional features, with the house raised above ground, it helps to keep the rooms dry and ventilated and keep away snakes and other wild animals. The first floor is usually used for raising poultry and keeping agriculture tools & heavy objects; the second floor as the living areas and the third floor as storehouse, due to its dryness, ventilation and favorable position.

Lunch will be in the village to taste the local food. After that, visit Shiqiao Village to see their traditional paper making from tree bark. The guide will give you a detailed explanation about its basic principles and processes. Upon returning to Kali City, a delicious dinner of traditional Miao cuisine is arranged at a local restaurant, including the special sour-soup fish served in hotpot.

Day 5 Kaili to Maliao to Kaijue to Xijiang

Take a 1.5 hours car ride to Maliao and then a four-hour hiking trip along a challenging zigzag mountainous path with gorgeous landscape views of terraced paddy fields. On the way, we will stop by Kaijue town, known as silversmith Miao village, and visit some local families. Then, enjoy a picnic lunch on the mountain top, before walking some distance to Xijiang, the largest Miao village in China with one thousand households. The same traditional rice wine welcome ceremony as in the Qingman Miao village the previous day awaits upon your arrival. After that, meet the family members whom you will stay with for the night. The rest of the day will be free for you to explore the village and the local culture on your own or have a good rest with the family. Please don't wonder off too far away without the guide or unaccompanied by a local. Dinner will be provided by your host family.

Day 6 Xijiang

You will have a first-hand experience of farm-work such as field-plowing with the aid of a water buffalo, carp-fishing in paddy fields, or digging for potatoes in the mountain fields. You may choose any one or all of them. The guide and the locals will be around to direct and help. Please always keep safety in mind. Lunch today will be food cooked from the fish and potatoes harvested from your own hard labor.

In the afternoon, visit the Xijiang Middle School. Take the opportunity to communicate with the Miao ethnic students to learn about their education. The kind and diligent Miao people are innate singers and dancers, so you can also learn to sing traditional Miao songs and play their musical instrument called the Lusheng (bamboo reed pipe). At the same time, a basketball match will be played between your team and theirs. In the evening, a special traditionally Miao long-table banquet is arranged, along with an evening farewell performance by your home-stay hosts.

Day 7 Xijiang to Kaili to Guiyang to Departure

Bid farewell to the hospitable Miao people after breakfast and head back to Guiyang via Kaili. En route, drop by Ms. Yang Jianhong's embroidery workshop to learn about the unique Miao embroidery. Take the opportunity to embroider your own piece. Miao embroidery plays an important role in the historical heritage of their culture. Almost every pattern has its own origin or legend, exhibiting the Miao people's history and life.

As the China Visa, we cannot apply for you as we are an China inbound travel company. However, we can send you our invitation letter with our company's official seal to you after you booked the tour from us, which could assist you to get China Visa from China embassy easily. Usually, we suggest you to apply the visa about one month or one month and a half before your travel date.
For the breakfast, it is offered by the hotel you stay, usually Chinese and Western buffet breakfast. As for the lunch, we offer 80RMB per person for a standard Chinese meal at a nice tourist restaurant. If you want to order other kind of meals, such as vegetarian, Muslim meals, Indian Meals, please let your trip consultant know. Dinner usually will be left for you to choose the food you prefer. Our guide will help you to balance each meal such as your taboo, your preference and avoid repeated food. You have to pay for the extra cost if you want to take better or more. The meals on Yangtze Cruise are fixed Chinese and Western Buffet.
All the hotels can be replaced by your favorite ones or you can book your own hotels. And the hotel room we offered here usually is standard with twin beds. If you want to have king-size bed room or suite, please let your trip advisor know. Besides, all the accommodation are quoted on two persons sharing one room. The room supplement must be paid if you want to have a single room.
* Most hotels we offered in our tour package have WIFI in the lobby, and some of which have WIFI in hotel rooms. If you need the WIFI in your room, please make sure with your trip advisor.
We have non-shopping private tour and tour with carefully selected shops. For tour with shops, the price will be lower, and you will enter one or two shops in every tourist city. The shops could be jade, silk, pearl, Chinese tea etc., all of which have strong China's character and is worthy to buy. Each shop will take you around 45 minutes. We promise there is no compulsory consumption at all. You get the situation in your hands.
* Department stores, supermarkets, boutiques, hotel and restaurants in most cities of China do accept the credit card with the sigh of MasterCard, VISA and JCB. However, it does generate commission charge. Please check the regulations with your bank manager.
All domestic flight we offered is the economic class, which you can carry one hand-on luggage no more than 5 kg for free. The total of free registered luggage is no more than 20kg. Excess luggage will charge you some extra fees, be aware of that. The free registered luggage allowance in China domestic train is 20kg.
The insurance provided by us is called Travel Agencies' Liability Insurance, which covers accidents occurring during the activities arranged by travel agency. It does not cover mishaps or physical problems occurring outside the guided tour period or caused by clients themsevles, so we highly suggest you purchase the full coverage travel insurance from your country of origin.
For group of 1-4 passengers, recommend US$ 4-8 per tourist per day for guide, and US$ 2-5 per tourist per day for guide; for group of 5 and above, recommend US$ 2-5 per tourist per day for guide, and US$2-4 per tourist per day for driver. Besides, we highly recommend you to tip every day to encourage better service from them in the next coming days. However, if you have genuine reason not to tip, don't.
Usually, the deposit of tour package accounts for 30% of the total quotation, and the balance should be paid 30 days before your tour date.
