What do I care when traveling to Yunnan?
Asked by Jason (Jul.31, 2012)
Lead To China Trip Advisor (Jul.31, 2012) replied:
There are many minority peoples in Yunnan province. Their beliefs and traditional rules are various. You can never count all the customs. I would list some for you. The room of pregnant women and the bedroom of the host is forbidden to enter in. Pregnant women are not allowed enter a bridal chamber or attend a wedding ceremony. If you are visiting a Yi nationality's family, make sure not to walk over or stand astride the fire pit. You'd better reject horse, mule or dog meat during Yunnan tour. Never touch a hung cattle bones in Jingpo villages and the head of a little monk.
