8 Days Huangshan and Panda Tour
Tour Route: Huangshan, Chengdu, Huanglong, Jiuzhaigou, Chengdu
Upon arrival at Tunxi (downtown of Huangshan City), you'll be met by our guide and transferred to hotel. Since you'll have to carry everything yourself up Huangshan unless you hire a porter, it is advisable that you leave your big luggage in the hotel in downtown and bring only a small handbag or backpack with you up mountain.
Day 2 Tunxi to Mt. Huangshan
After breakfast, we drive for about one hour and twenty minutes to reach the foothill of Huangshan before hiking up or take the Yungu Cable Car up mountain. Sightsee the Fairy Maiden Peak, Beginning-to-believe Peak, Lion Peak, Stone Monkey Gazing Over the Sea of Clouds. In the afternoon, we will visit the Purple Cloud Peak and part of the most spectacular Grand Canyon of the West Sea, where the views are truely stunning and simply beyond words.
Day 3 Huangshan to Tunxi
After watching the brilliant sunrise, we will descend Mt. Huangshan through another trail "Western Steps", 15km-long (9 1/4-mile), which is longer and steeper but has some of Huang Shan's most spectacular vistas, including the Flying-over Rock, Bright Summit, Tianhai Scenic Area, White Clouds Scenic Area, Stone Turtle on the Back of a Crocodile, Narrow Cliff, Old Monk in Meditation, One Hundred Ladders, Lotus Peak which is the top peak of Huangshan with an elevation of more than 1,864 meters above sea level, Welcoming-guest Pine, Celestial Capital Peak. It would take us about 3 and half hours to do the hiking until we reach Yuping Cable Car which finally takes us down the mountain around lunch time. After lunch, you can take a hot spring bath at your own cost. Then we drive back to the downtown to visit the Ancient Street, the best-preserved old commercial street built in the Qing Dynasty.
Day 4 Tunxi to Old Villages to Tunxi to Chengdu (
In the morning, we drive for about one hour to visit the World Heritage Site of Hongcun, one of the most photogenic villages in China, with its characteristic Anhui architecture set along the edge of Nan (South) Lake. In the Song dynasty, the villagers of Hongcun constructed an irrigation canal that runs between each house, so virtually every household had easy access to water, providing a source of washing water as well as fire prevention. All of the houses in the village follow the ancient architectural style, with exquisite carvings and fine craftsmanship. This enchanting old village was used as a film location for Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon. Later, we'll visit Nanping, an equally old village. Back to Tunxi in the afternoon to fly to Chengdu, provincial capital of Sichuan Province. Our guide will meet you at Chengdu airport and transfer you to hotel .
Day 5 Huanglong
Take a morning flight to Jiuzhaigou, followed by a visit to Huanglong National Park, both are listed as a World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO, with beautiful mountains, lush woods, colourful flowers, and crystal clear waters. The special character of the area, which extends over 700 square kilometers, results from formations of talpatate, which give a special color to ponds and beaches. With a background of high mountains, snow covered peaks, valleys, waterfalls, lakes and forests, these talpatate scenes are unusually spectacular.
Day 6 Jiuzhaigou
After breakfast, head to the Jiuzhaigou National Park where you will board environmentally friendly buses to sightsee the Park. Visit the Shuzheng and Zezawa Valleys; Pearl Sands and Shuzheng Waterfall; the Tibetan village of Shuzheng, and numerous picturesque lakes including Panda Lake, Long Lake, Rainbow Lake, Tiger Lake and Rhinoceros Lake. Then summon your energy for a Tibetan folk customs show at night, consisting of singing, dancing and other programs. (The entrance fee of 150-320 RMB is not included in the tour price). Overnight at the same hotel.
Day 7 Jiuzhaigou to Chengdu
Airport drop off in this morning, fly back to Chengdu. Drive to visit Chengdu Panda Base located in the northern suburb of Chengdu on Futou Hill. Giant pandas at the Chengdu Research Base live in large naturalistic habitats, which help the visitor to understand how these animals live in the wild. It is an excellent recreational area and a highlight of any visit to Chengdu. Many types of bamboo, trees, and flowers thrive at the Research Base. Several species of birds also make their home there. The Research Base is one of the important centers in China for the captive conservation of giant pandas. Then drive back to Hotel. Overnight in Chengdu. As an option in the evening (200RMB extra), enjoy a wonderful variety show of Face changing and Flame Spitting Out of Sichuan Opera.
Day 8 Departure
After breakfast, we'll send you to the airport for departure. Service ends at airport.
