Oriental Provence in Shanghai
Post Date: Jun 27th, 2011
I've heard about the Xunmengyuan Garden two years ago, last weekend, I finally make my dream come true. It was a sunny day that day and fit for outdoor activities.
The Xunmengyuan Garden locates in Xingguan Village, Zhujiajiao Town in Qingpu, Shanghai. There stands a wooden sign, reading " Shanghai Xunmengyuan Garden", this board is not big and attractive, so don't drive too fast when you go there, or you have to turn back.
In the entrance of the garden, you would find that it was almost as simple as the board outside, no signboard, no gorgeous gate, everything seems plain, just like being placed at random. You can not even find a wattled wall inside the garden.
The Xunmengyuan Garden is large, at about hundreds of mu (1 mu equals to 1/15 hectare). There generally operate vanilla planting, seedling sales and sightseeing. There are uncountable flowers, like thyme, rosemary, mentha haplocalyx and others I am not familiar with. The most popular ones here is the lavender field and multi-coloured flower mountains, colourful and fragrant.
