Where to Travel in China

Though a well-knwon country for its wonderful scenery, for foreign friends, China is still quite unfamiliar, and for those of only limited time, they definitely want to visit the essence during their China travel, I do hope the following ranking list of China travel spots can do you some help.

1. The Great Wall
It is a miracle in the history of construction, built early in the 3th century B.C., which spans around 2000 years.



2. Guilin
As a Karst landscape of the largest scale and the most wonderful view, Guilin has left deep impression in Chinese literati and foreign tourists all along the history, which is famous for "Green Mountains","Clean Water" and "Odd Caves".


3. The West Lake

Situated west of Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, the West Lake is well-known at home and abroad, reputed as "Paradise on the Earth".


4. Forbidden City

I think it is no need to say more about it, almost all of you have heard about it before--situated at the heart of Beijing, former residence and official site in China's Ming and Qing Dynasties, it is at a width of 750m from east to west and at a length of 960 from north to south, occupying an area of 720,000 sq.m, a masterpiece in ancient Chinese architecture.



5. Suzhou

Enjoy the reputation of " Gardens in Jiangnan exceed all the others in the world, while Suzhou Gardens surpass those in Jiangnan". Together another crown that " In heaven there is the paradise, and on earth there are Suzhou and Hangzhou". Suzhou--a site worth a visit.



6. Mt. Huangshan
Situated in South Anhui Province, crowned by its clouds, pines, hot springs and odd rocks. There is an old Chinese saying about Mt. Huangshan that " All the wonders get together in Mt. Huangshan", that is that, the Yellow Mountain boasts all the strong points of other mountains.



7. The Three Gorges

The Three Gorges is the general name of Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge, there were rich in natural wonders, it is a pity that due to the construction of the Dam, quite a lot scenic spots are damaged or moved or even drown into the water forever.



8. Chengde Mountain Resort

Occupying the north part of Chengde City, taking an area of 5,640,000 sq. km, it is the largest imperial gardens and cultural relics scenic spot existing. Well combining pavillions, palaces, temples, towers, bridges, etc, it is a tridimensional scroll painting.



9. Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses

North of Li Mountain, there hide a large-scale, unique-looking construction--the well-known Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses. Its excavation shocked the whole world.



10. Riyuetan Pool

It got the name for it is divided into two parts by Guanghua Isle, the south one resemles the Moon and the north one likens the Sun, so it is renamed Riyuetan Pool (it formerly known as Shuiliansha). Riyuetan Pool is located at Shuishe Village in Taiwan, at an elevation of 748m, occupying an area of 116 sq. km, it is the most well-known natural pool in Taiwan.
